A Plague Tale: Requiem will let you leg it to the end

^ Stay tuned after the announcements for our guide to walk through a particularly twisted part of Requiem’s second chapter.
See, we all know that pang of regret that comes when you screw up a stealth section and get spotted, but finish the level anyway. There is always a nagging feeling of not having done things correctly. Perhaps, if you’re the type of person who likes to get maximum timing in Assassin’s Creed no matter what, you’ll make a mental note to do better in your next playthrough. but a Plague Tale: Requiem it encourages you to simply manage, however one should do it.
At the end of chapter two is a sequence that seemingly plays out as a stealthy section, complete with rushes to hide behind, guards with predictable patrols, and plenty of cover to duck under. But something happens midway through that mixes things up in a way the first game never dared: the rats arrive. Bursting from the ground, through the walls, embracing the edge of light and filling every dark space. In this section, A Plague Tale’s game “The Floor Is Lava” collides with its game “Hide and Seek”: and the results are heartbreaking.

Fine-tuning is perfectly possible, but for some it can be an exercise in frustration that requires a change of course. The tack is: leg.

Just push towards the door. It might take a couple of tries, as there are times in the script where the guards will cross your path while trying to run away from the rat outbreak, which only reinforces the idea that the game wants you to perfect a run rather than slip away And it’s a bit curious about the design of the game because you can’t help but wonder if this window of opportunity that gives you an almost clear race to the exit, potentially avoiding around fifteen minutes of play, has been designed into the level as a concession to ( or apology for) the fact that the game’s systems don’t really interact that well, or… is that a metaphor for moving through the chaos? Some sort of imitation of Amicia’s struggle with her own cautious nature as a teenager in middle age when she is forced, by circumstance, to fight her way through brute force in the center of a storm of violence? erupting shit?
Perhaps I am reading too much, but it is a moment that I find fascinating.
A Plague Tale: Requiem leaves tomorrow in game pass by personal computer Y Xbox Series X|S, VaporY ps5.
