Resident Evil 4 Remake lets you move and shoot, but remains staunchly authentic

^ Stay tuned for our great Resi 4 Remake preview video with tons of 4K footage.
Resident Evil 4 Remake it’s real, we’ve played it, and it looks unbelievably brilliant.
Kelsey, resident horror expert, dropped by the Capcom UK offices for a short but sweet twenty-minute hands-on with everyone’s favorite Resi game (even yours, and if you say otherwise, I’ll assume you’re lying) and informed the ship nurse that everything seems present and correct: tetris inventory? Check. Typewriters? Check. An overwhelming sense of dread? Obvious. Feet planted while aiming? No, but that’s okay, because it’s 2022 and no one has time for that.
We’re also wondering where the remake series goes from here, with spinoffs Revelations and Code Veronica looking like juicy candidates for the REmake treatment before Capcom should think about tackling 5 and 6, and as Alex points out, the first game has not yet. received as extensive a reinvention as RE2, 3 and now 4 are enjoying: the Gamecube remake retained the original’s fixed camera over 2D backgrounds approach, but as you might have guessed from the words “Gamecube remake”, it came out twenty years ago. We’re long overdue on a visit to the Spencer mansion.
But that is for the future. At present, the new version of Resi 4 is only a few months away, with the goal of being released in March. We hope to have more time with him before then, and can’t wait to see how faithful the full game is.
