As part of the celebration fallout 25th anniversary, Bethesda announced that fallout 4 will receive a next-gen update next year.
Fallout celebrated its 25th anniversary earlier this month, so Bethesda has been celebrating in a few small ways. Apparently those celebrations will stretch slightly into 2023, as in a post rounding everything up With a combination of interviews and more, he announced that Fallout 4 will receive a free update that will bring the game to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
The update will include “performance mode features for high frame rates, quality features for 4K resolution gaming, bug fixes, and even additional Creation Club content,” and will also come to PC when it launches next year. No specific window was provided for when we can expect that update to arrive, so it will be sometime in 2023.
It’ll be something to keep Fallout fans at bay until Fallout 5 finally comes out, which has technically been confirmed, but it won’t come out until after The Elder Scrolls 6, which we probably won’t be hearing from properly for quite some time, either. .
The Bethesda title that’s obviously on everyone’s mind is Starfield, which finally received a gameplay trailer earlier this year at definitely not E3, during Xbox and Bethesda’s Games Showcase. It definitely looks like a Bethesda game so far, but from the looks of it, like Fallout 4 before it, Starfield will be the studio’s biggest title yet.
On the one hand, it seems like it has a fairly large development team, with more than twice as many people working on it as Fallout 76. It also seems like getting through all the dialogue is going to be quite a challenge. It has over 250,000 lines of material, which is more than Skyrim and Fallout combined.
